Brad Pitt is one of the most acclaimed and popular actors in Hollywood. The 60-year-old American has been immersed in the film industry for more than four decades, in which he has conquered thousands of people around the world with his unforgettable leading roles.

One of his most remembered characters is that of Tristan Ludlow in the film Legends of Passion, based on the novel of the same name by Jim Harrison. The film, directed by Ed Zwick, was a worldwide box office success and helped Brad Pitt position himself as one of the most popular actors in the world of acting.

However, the filming of the film was not as bearable as many of the actor’s followers might think. The creator of the film, Ed Zwick, wanted to talk about what the production process of the film was like more than 30 years ago through his memoirs, which will be published next Tuesday, February 13 under the name of Hits, Flops, and Other Illusions: My Fortysomething Years in Hollywood.

In addition, the director also wanted to open up about what his relationship with the popular actor was like at that time and the reason why he almost didn’t star in the film. And the film’s creative team initially chose Tom Cruise as the protagonist. However, the Mission Impossible interpreter decided to reject the role due to “differences in ethics with the character.”

It was then that Brad Pitt presented himself as the perfect candidate to play Tristan Ludlow. ”He felt passion for the script and a strong attraction for the character. “When he left the meeting, I felt like I had found the right actor,” Zwick confessed in a small excerpt from his memoirs published by Vanity Fair.

But the enthusiasm for playing this character disappeared with the first script reading. And the actor felt so uncomfortable that he even confessed his desire to give up the role. “He seems calm at first, but he can be very volatile when he gets angry,” he declared. After this small unforeseen event, filming began, which was marked by a long list of problems, such as the rains or Brad’s attitude. Pitt: ”Brad got nervous every time he was about to film a scene that required deep emotion,” he stated.

Furthermore, their differences when it came to building Tristán’s character led to continuous fights in front of the team. ”I started giving him instructions out loud in front of the whole team and Brad responded, also out loud, telling me to stop. I don’t know who shouted first, who swore or who threw the first chair. I maybe? But when we looked up, the team was gone,’ he began by saying. ”They got used to our fights and walked away to let us solve it,” he explained. But yes, after each confrontation reconciliation occurred because “it was not something personal.”
