The Benidorm Fest of this 2024 is, possibly, one of the ones that has caused the most talk in the three consecutive years that it has been held. The choice of Zorra, a song by Nebulossa, to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest has left many reactions, positive and negative, in addition to hours of debate on television programs, gatherings, social networks, magazines and other media.

However, there has also been a space reserved for parodies. And, in this field, Polònia’s scriptwriters are the fastest and most eager to take advantage of current events. 3Cat’s political satire program has once again left a viral gag in its edition this past Thursday, this time dedicated to the song by the Valencian duo. His artist on the small screen, however, has been a radically different one: Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The president of the Community of Madrid, recreated in the Catalan program by Lara Díez, has taken the role of María Bas to sing Facha, her own version of Zorra in the company of José Luis Martínez-Almeida (Albert Mèlich) playing Mark Dasousa, and José María Aznar (David Marcé) completing the choruses in this triplet. This reinterpretation comes as a result of the defense that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, made of the election.

“I understand that the fachosphere would have liked to have Cara al sol, but I like this type of songs better,” said the socialist politician in an interview with Antonio García Ferreras in Al Rojo Vivo. The parody of Ayuso in Polònia seeks for the character to highlight his strengths and achievements in recent months, such as the acquisition of the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid; At the same time, his rise in the Popular Party stands out.

“They say I’m just a façade, so what? Leftist, not even drunk! I am from the PP, the black sheep, although Almeida is already a sheep. We will have Formula 1, a Disneyland in Neptune and here I will never have a drought because there will be bulls in Gran Vía. You can support me now and you will go straight to a residence. If I make hospitals they say: Facha! If they don’t work, I’m more of a fach! If I say ‘with Vox I would add’ I am even more badass. I am going to have more Olympics, in Chamberí I will put NASA. Madrid-Dakar will be the route, die of envy sons of fruit!”, expresses the lyrics.

The video has accumulated more than 300,000 views on Polònia’s YouTube channel, as well as nearly 1,000 comments, congratulating or criticizing the creators of this version. “The lyricists really deserve an Oscar for the best adapted song of all time. I will die and I will still be laughing out loud remembering this sublime work,” one user expressed unequivocally.
