The semifinal of Operación Triunfo 2023 has brought with it the election of the last three finalists. After gala 10, where Naiara, Juanjo and Paul got the direct pass and became the first three finalists, the semi-final of the OT contest has revealed the names of the three contestants who will also participate in the grand final. Martin, Ruslana and Lucas became, after Bea’s expulsion, those chosen to be part of what will be the final gala of the contest.

The 11th gala opened, as is customary, with the group performance of the seven semi-finalists who performed Aire by the singer Pedro Marín. After the start of the program, the presenter Chenoa explained the dynamics of the gala based on the performances of the four nominees (Bea, Lucas, Martin and Ruslana) in the first place, and with which the public vote would be paused through the official application of the program.

Martin was the first to perform, performing the song Murder on the dance floor by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, a performance with which he convinced the jury. “There is someone who has made us enjoy a lot. He has had versatility and has been the one who has convinced us the most tonight,” commented journalist Cris Regatero before choosing the Basque contestant as the first save of the night.

The second performance was performed by Lucas who chose the song Mariposa tecknicolor by the Argentine artist, Fito Páez. “If we think that it is evolution, attitude, light, positivism…”, declared the director of the academy, Noemí Galera, in tears after saving the Uruguayan contestant from expulsion.

The expulsion was between Bea, who sang the song Bette Davies eyes by Kim Carnes, and Ruslana, who performed the song Let me out by Dover. The viewers’ verdict was one of the closest of the edition, as the audience’s decision led Bea to become the last expelled from OT 2023 with 55.5% of the votes.

In this way, Ruslana took the last place in the Operación Triunfo final. “I have no words, I swear. It means a lot to me to have reached the final because of the public and not because of anyone,” said the excited contestant.

For their part, Juanjo, Naiara and Paul performed despite having a guaranteed place in the final. Paul Thin wanted to stay in the line of urban music and chose the song Fever by Bad Gyal. “It wasn’t your best performance, although I predict a successful future for you,” commented producer Pablo Rouss after the contestant’s performance.

As for Juanjo and Naiara, they both gave a memorable performance. Juanjo sang the song El patio by Pablo López, who was one of the artists invited to the gala along with the singer Álvaro de Luna. The performance of the skilled contestant moved the jury and the teachers, especially the acting teacher Abril Zamora, who congratulated him for the work done during the week.

The last performance was starred by Naiara who performed the song Let’s get loud by pop star Jennifer López. The singer brought the audience back to their feet with her performance, with which she was chosen as the last favorite of the edition.

The final of the contest, which will be held on February 19, is for the moment in the hands of the public. The winner of the twelfth edition of the format will be decided through popular vote, in which the six finalists will fight to win the prize of 100,000 euros.

The three contestants with the least votes will be eliminated in the first round, while the remaining three must perform again, performing the song they presented in gala 0 and with which they will demonstrate their evolution. Finally, the extra vote will be opened with which the public will designate the winner of OT 2023.
