María del Monte is not having a good time. The singer and her wife, Inmaculada Casal, continue to suffer the psychological consequences left by the robbery in her house almost six months ago. Both were gagged and forced to hand over belongings of economic and sentimental value to the five hooded men who entered in the middle of the night.
And if everything that was happening to him was already a hard blow, the information that has emerged in the last few hours has been even worse: a judge has sent his nephew Antonio Tejado to provisional prison, considering him the intellectual author of the robbery.
Last Friday, the reality show contestant was arrested for his alleged involvement in a gang of Portuguese origin that was responsible for robbing houses in Aljarafe (Seville). After the initial investigation, the judge has decreed that Tejado was in charge of planning the robbery of his aunt. “Membership in a criminal organization, robbery with violence, illegal detention, drug trafficking and reception” are the crimes he is accused of.
Isabel Rábago revealed that the Civil Guard had the collaborator in its sights “from the first moment.” Among other things, she alerted the agents to the low level of violence used by the robbers, taking into account the gang’s background. Something that made many things clear.
Given this, the most anticipated words were those of María del Monte. And it was she herself who did not hesitate to answer the questions from the press present at the door of her house. Accompanied by her wife, the singer has made it clear that “it is not an easy moment.”
The artist has begun to express that she wants her silence to be respected. “I can only trust in the justice of this country. And until a judge rules, continue trusting in the presumption of innocence,” she has made clear. If there is one thing he wants, it is to respect the laws. A gesture that shows the affection she has for her nephew despite everything.
Following this, a journalist asked if he feels “relief” after the gang that robbed his house is now behind bars. “I believe that our relief needs time because what has happened to us has been something very strong. We would be inhuman if we recovered automatically,” he assured.
“We make efforts to recover and face our daily lives, work… You can have 10,000 problems, but you have to continue and work is sacred,” he added. After this, he has decided that he was not going to say anything more and hopes that the press understands his position.
