After a long vacation, perhaps involuntary, Jorge Javier Vázquez returns to the ring with one of Telecinco’s flagships and a program in which he has been for almost 13 years: Supervivientes. A week ago the network confirmed the presenter’s participation as the main face of the survival reality show, thus silencing all rumors that pointed to an imminent dismissal.
The promo makes everything clear. The journalist appears having a refreshing drink by the pool and suddenly the phone rings. A call that shows the legendary tune of the program and that awakens in him a huge “finally!”. Despite being an advertisement, it is not surprising that he is very happy to be working again after so long. Something that he wanted to make clear in his Readings blog.
The Catalan has explained how he feels at the moment, less than a month after his return to the small screen. To begin with, he has explained how speculation about his dismissal for a long time has affected him. “Mentally, I have been plucking the leaves for a year – with the consequent wear and tear that this entails – and the dismissal does not occur,” he said.
So much so, that he even planned what he would do with his compensation money. “It has been a complicated time. Convulsive. Deeply destabilizing. And enriching,” she continued. However, months later, this has not happened and he is “willing to continue.”
But if there is something that really left him disappointed, it was stepping into the corridors of Mediaset again: “Going back made me uneasy. But I had to do it and it was much better than expected.” A fact that helped him realize that you have to think less about things.
And among his reflections on the blog of the aforementioned magazine, he wanted to confess that after everything that happened he was left without a dressing room. One that they gave him after the pandemic and that he has not been able to recover since the end of Chinese Tales: “My dressing room was number four and he even had my name.”
“I haven’t had a program at the Mediaset facilities for eight and a half months. What did I want? To be absent?” he said, understanding the situation. And he has already assumed that he will change dressing rooms every time he sets foot in the facilities, since he will only come “once a week.”
