Cadena Ser is celebrating. This year the radio station celebrates its first hundred years of broadcasting. And on the occasion of this centenary, the radio, owned by Grupo Prisa, has organized a series of events that took place throughout the year and with which they will honor a century of information.
The starting signal for this long list of activities that will highlight the great work of the station during these hundred years was given this Wednesday, February 14, by Andreu Buenafuente. The presenter will be in charge of conducting the Centennial Commemorative gala, which will be held in the Oval Room of the MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia) in Barcelona.
As a prelude to this great celebration, Carles Francino has done his thing on his program, La Ventana, where he wanted to surround himself with some of the most popular faces on the radio in our country, such as Ricard Ustrell, Pepa Fernández or Andreu Buenafuente. The latter was the one who got all the attention on Wednesday afternoon by telling an unprecedented anecdote that he lived with Carles Francino himself.
The comedian and host of the radio program Nobody Knows Anything left Cadena Ser listeners speechless when he recounted the experience he had lived on the high seas with the host of La Ventana. A situation that ended with Buenafuente saving Francino’s life.
”You know that I saved your life, right?” Buenafuente began by saying. ”No, I was not aware of this detail,” Francino replied. The presenter of Nobody Knows Anything was left speechless when he realized that Francino did not remember what happened to them at sea. But suddenly, the driver of La Ventana remembered the fateful moment. ”Ah well, on the boat back, of course, yes. In the English Channel,’ he declared.
”I told my wife and she doesn’t believe me (…) We were returning and the English Channel became very rough, with very high waves. We were going with a fishing boat, bordering on tragedy,’ he commented. ”The budget did not allow for more,” added Francino. ”He was on deck, side to side, absolutely dizzy. I didn’t get dizzy, I don’t know why. Then the boss tells me “tie up your friend, we’re going to lose him.” And how cold-blooded I was, uncle. I gathered two belts and tied you to the mast. It seems like a Jack London novel but that’s how it was,” the comedian said.
