King Charles III has begun treatment for the cancer he suffers from. Meanwhile it is his firstborn, William, who has assumed part of his royal duties. However, the crown prince is also aware of the health of his wife, Kate Middleton, who underwent abdominal surgery a month ago and is currently recovering from a complicated post-operative period.
Since the surgery was announced, mystery has surrounded the health of the Princess of Wales. At the request of the princess herself, the reason for her intervention has not been revealed nor what her recovery has been like, which has given rise to numerous rumors. However, everything points to an improvement, as the princess has left Adelaide Cottage, where she stayed after her operation, to spend a holiday further north in the country.
As reported by The Daily Mail, the Princess of Wales, 42, moved a few days ago to Armer Hall, the family home on Sandringham Estate, Norfolk. There she met with her children -George (10), Charlotte (8) and Louis (5)-, who are currently enjoying a few days of vacation due to their school calendar.
“He is recovering well,” sources confirm to the aforementioned media. “She was looking forward to a change of scenery and will be able to take things easy in Norfolk.” King Charles is also on the estate, who moved to the place last Tuesday to continue his cancer treatment.
It is unknown whether the Princess of Wales will remain in Sandringham until Easter or return to her refuge at Adelaide Cottage, in Windsor, where she has been recovering from her operation until now. In any case, she is not expected to reappear in public until after the Easter holidays.
Her sister, Pippa Middleton, has also shown signs that have led to think that her older sister is feeling much better. The youngest of the Middletons, her husband, James Matthews; and her three children, would also have decided to go to enjoy a short vacation. In his case, in the tourist resort Eden Rock, in Saint Barthélemy, in the French Caribbean.
A few days ago, Prince William spoke in public for the first time about his family’s health problems. The heir to the British throne, 41, thanked the public for their “kind messages of support”.
The heir temporarily stepped away from public duties last month to help care for his wife and three children following surgery for an undisclosed condition. However, duty forced him to reappear following his father’s cancer diagnosis earlier this week.
The situation and state of health of the King and Princess of Wales come at an uncomfortable time for the House of Windsor, as with two of the most visible members of the family sick, it will be more difficult to keep up with their commitments.
Prince Henry, the monarch’s youngest son, has already reunited with his father after the announcement of the diagnosis of his illness. A meeting that raised hopes that the two could repair their troubled relationship after the prince and his wife, Meghan Markle, abandoned their royal duties in 2020 and moved to California.
