Helena Hernández and Marga Estarellas have known and appreciated each other for years, but they never imagined that one day they would start a business together that would immediately find the formula for success. This, they explain, is based on the production of tasty and attractive gluten-free sweets that have seduced private customers and restaurants and are gaining relevance at large events in Barcelona.

“Like everyone else, during the pandemic I started preparing cakes, something I already did, but I intensified production,” explains Helena Hernández, who due to her daughter’s celiac disease (now 17 years old) always tried to compensate with her healthy homemade preparations, an offer that “until not long ago was practically non-existent and very unappetizing.”

The success among their daughter’s friends and other guests encouraged Helena and Marga, both from professional sectors that have nothing to do with restaurants, to join forces and look for a location where they settled in March 2021. Although nothing they serve (carrot cake is one of the most successful preparations) contains gluten, they explain that upon request they also work without lactose and adapt to other needs that arise. Furthermore, they point out, “there are more and more clients who, without having any dietary restrictions, place orders with us because they claim that they have tried our cakes, they feel great and they find them delicious.”
