Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) will reinforce its lines to facilitate the movement of participants in the new edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which is held at the Fira de Barcelona site in Gran Via de l’Hospitalet de Llobregat .
The FGC Llobregat-Anoia line will once again be the most direct route to access the congress. The service reinforcement that the company has established consists of increasing the circulation of trains on line L8 by 30 daily. The capacity of the trains will also be doubled, going from three to six cars. Likewise, to accommodate the large volume of displaced people, the lobbies of the Plaça Espanya and Europa|Fira stations will be redesigned.
The established measures aim to absorb the high demand, guaranteeing safety and fluidity among attendees, with a maximum capacity of 8,000 people/hour. The action seeks to make public transport the most efficient and practical, thus avoiding excessive use of private vehicles.
Likewise, FGC will carry out a security plan coordinated with the Mossos d’Esquadra, GSMA and Fira de Barcelona at the stations to prevent various mobility and security incidents that may arise.
Taxi drivers do not rule out taking advantage of the Mobile celebration to mobilize in the battle they maintain against the VTCs
