Pressure against drug trafficking in Cádiz continues to increase. After a few complicated days due to the death of two Civil Guard agents in Barbate when they were hit by a drug boat, the siege on these criminal networks is increasingly tightening. The latest chapter in the fight against this problem has taken place in Chiclana de la Frontera, where the Benemérita has intercepted a van loaded with fuel ready to supply gasoline to the drug boats.

After a complex chase, one of the three occupants of the vehicle, 20 years old and a resident of Algeciras, has been arrested, the alleged perpetrator of a crime against traffic safety and an infraction for transporting dangerous goods by road.

The event took place on Monday afternoon, at which time the agents observed how a van was traveling along the Molino road at high speed, endangering the safety of pedestrians and the rest of the vehicles circulating in the area. From there, according to the statement issued by the Armed Institute, a persecution began that, at times, became more complex.

Knowing that he is being pursued by the Civil Guard, the driver of the van begins to make erratic, evasive and abrupt maneuvers until both he and his two companions decide to flee on foot.

One of the occupants of the vehicle, 20 years old and from Algeciras, was arrested while the other two managed to escape and are still being searched and captured, since the agents were putting the van under surveillance. It was during the inspection of the vehicle when they detected that they were carrying 69 flasks of gasoline of 25 liters each, which makes a total of 1,725 ??liters of fuel whose final destination was to supply gasoline to the drug boats.

For this reason, S.M.F. was arrested. as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against traffic safety and an infraction for transporting dangerous goods by road.

Finally, the Civil Guard has indicated that continuing with the commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, the Cádiz Command has delivered under receipt all the seized fuel to one of the non-profit entities that collaborate with the Civil Guard in the province. .
