This morning Madrid has become the meeting center for thousands of farmers from all over the national territory who are demanding better conditions with the strike, attention to the crisis in the sector and the review of the agricultural policies of the European Union, the Government and the autonomous communities.

Hundreds of tractors have advanced during the last few hours along the access roads to Madrid to be present in a day of mobilizations that will end with a rally in front of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

Due to the protests, traffic around the capital has suffered disruptions, delays and traffic jams. The demonstration, formally authorized by the Delegation of the Government of Spain, has almost 500 tractors forming five columns from different points in the Community of Madrid.

All types of media have gone to the place of the general protest to broadcast the day of social denunciation and fight for the rights of farm workers. However, some protesters have been against the presence of certain media.

A young reporter from the Catalan TV3 program Tot es Mou was doing his job live when suddenly a woman began to scold him and make it difficult to connect to the television.

The journalist, visibly distressed, continued with his work (speaking in Catalan) while ignoring the woman, who kept shouting at him and asking him where he was from. ”What are you Catalan? Catalan? To Catalonia. Out of here, to Catalonia,” the lady repeated over and over again, trying to provoke the reporter.

”Spain belongs to the Spanish, Catalonia belongs to the Catalans,” the woman said while naming Puigmemont and showing her face in front of the television camera. The journalist has made it clear that there are also Catalans in the demonstration and has pointed out that the place is full of Spanish flags.

The communicator of the Catalan program has not been the only victim of the most aggressive protesters, since a reporter from Al Rojo Vivo has shown the tension they were experiencing when several men attacked the camera and broke a piece of it.

Although they have explained that a woman was defending them, La Sexta journalists María Lamela and Luis de la Rosa have been ‘expelled’ from the concentration area (in front of the Ministry) with pushes and shouts of contempt: ‘Get out’ ‘, ”The communists”, ”Let them go somewhere else”, etc.
