Union of Unions accused the Government of not having allowed access to the center of Madrid this Wednesday to the majority of tractors that intended to join the demonstration they have called, and assured that it is “outrageous” that only ” a few” vehicles and “almost four hours later than planned.”

He added as another demand that “the Food Chain Law must be complied with,” because “farmers cannot pass production costs on to the final price of the products. We are selling at a loss and the minister knows it.”

One of the participants in the protest, Javier Cuenca, told Servimedia that the authorities “don’t let us advance along the route and keep us crammed here as if we were animals.”

Another of the protesters, Rubén Sánchez, stressed that “we are going to continue here because if we do not demonstrate we are going to die of hunger” and noted that “as the situation is, I do not see it going to improve at all.”
