The Barcelona Court has sentenced former Brazilian FC Barcelona player, Dani Alves, to four and a half years in prison for the rape of a young woman at the Sutton nightclub in the Catalan capital on December 30, 2022. In addition, the court establishes a period of five years of supervised release, which will be applied once the prison sentence has been completed; prohibition of approaching the victim’s home or workplace within 1,000 meters and communicating with her by any means for a period of 9 years and 6 months. To compensation of 150,000 euros for moral damage and injuries; A fine of 9,000 euros is added for a minor crime of injuries.
The court considers that it has been proven with evidence and testimony that the victim did not consent to the sexual relationship they had.
