“Whoever is a doctor raise their hand!” There are around thirty volunteer doctors to work in the field hospital that is being set up in Valencia due to the devastating fire in the building in the Nou Campanar. Many of the doctors have come on their own and others because of the call that has been made to the health centers. The fire remains uncontrolled and injuries of varying degrees are being recorded.
A multiple casualty vehicle, a support and coordination unit, 3 SAMU, 2 Basic Life Support units and a conventional ambulance have also been mobilized, according to CICU sources, who have reported that the notice came in at 5:35 p.m. .
The fire in the 19-story residential building, located at the intersection of General Avilés and Maestro Rodrigo streets, originated on the fifth floor and has spread to the entire building and another annex.
Firefighters continue trying to control the flames and rescue some neighbors from the balconies of the annex building to which the flames have spread.
The building where the fire started offers a practically skeletal image, while the column of smoke can be seen from several kilometers around.
