The mayor of Barcelona, ??Jaume Collboni, presided this afternoon over the presentation of the distinctions to centenary entities and institutions of the city in an event that was held in the Saló de Cent of the City Hall.

The distinctions, which were approved unanimously at the municipal plenary session last November, have gone this year to 32 entities and institutions.

This is the second year in which awards created to recognize the trajectory of those entities that are 100 or more years old and have a proven history linked to the city of Barcelona have been awarded.

During the presentation ceremony, Mayor Collboni highlighted that “few cities in the world like Barcelona can celebrate an event like this” because few have an “associative fabric with so much historical background and vitality.”

Collboni has expressed the city’s gratitude for “contributing to maintaining values ??such as solidarity, social justice, respect, culture or education”, as well as for having preserved the legacy for at least a century and keeping the history alive and the personality of the city.

On this occasion, distinctions have been approved for 10 entities related to education, 8 cultural, 4 professional groups, 4 sports and 6 more linked to religion, social action and others.
