A woman was found dead with signs of violence early this Thursday in an apartment in Olot (Girona). The events took place in a house on Santa Coloma Avenue and the Mossos d’Esquadra are investigating whether it was a sexist crime.
The police received a notice around quarter to four in the afternoon that there were two people – a man and a woman – injured with a knife in a home in the municipality. As ACN has learned, the man is the victim’s partner and has self-harmed. The individual was transferred to the Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona, where he later died.
The Criminal Investigation Division (DIGO) of the Mossos is collecting evidence in the house and is investigating whether it is a sexist crime. The judicial procession also traveled to the scene of the incident and removed the body around a quarter to eight at night.
As ACN has learned, the notice was given by one of the victim’s children. The Mossos received the alert through the SEM, which informed them that there were two people with stab wounds in a home in Olot.
The man allegedly tried to harm himself and the medical personnel took him to Trueta with a critical injury. The man later died at the hospital.
On the other hand, the Olot City Council has decreed three days of official mourning starting this Friday and a rally tomorrow at six in the afternoon in front of the town hall building.
