Barcelona is left without one of its most emblematic sandwich restaurants. Sants es crema has announced on social media that it will close its doors on March 9. The establishment will definitely lower its blinds after more than six years “with many good things and others not so much.”

In the publication, those responsible for the establishment allege “lack of motivation to continue with this project”, although they value that from this experience they will take away “a master’s degree in management and survival.”

Sants es crema became iconic thanks to its sandwiches. In fact, in December 2021, its owner, Jordi Bernús, participated in Joc de carta, on TV3, in an episode dedicated to the best sandwich gastronomy in Barcelona.

The quality of the restaurant’s sandwiches prevailed by far and gave it the victory. Marc Ribas gave it an average 8.7, one of the highest marks he has given in the popular TV3 contest. “They make the best sandwiches in Sants… and not just in Sants,” stated the presenter.
