The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has today launched an alert about a possible presence of metal fragments in several chocolate cookies distributed by the Aldi and Lidl chains and which these companies have already withdrawn from sale.

These are Cookies Aux Trois Chocolats, from the Arizona brand; Grandino triple chocolate, from the McEnnedy brand and Nougatelli, from the Sondey brand. All of them have been analyzed and flagged by the European Food Alert Network (RASFF) in an alert notification sent by the health authorities of the Netherlands.

Therefore, people who have products affected by this alert in their homes are recommended to refrain from consuming them, as they could have harmful consequences for health.

According to the alert, these cookies would have been sold by Aldi and Lidl in the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Catalonia, the Canary Islands, the Valencian Community, the Community of Madrid, the Region of Murcia, Galicia and the Basque Country, although there could be redistributions to other autonomous communities. .

In addition, this information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities so that the withdrawal of the affected products from marketing channels can be verified.

The alert was launched this morning by the AESAN and there could be new information about this possible metallic contamination of the cookies in the next few hours.
