TVE says goodbye to one of the most emblematic faces of the network. Ana Blanco has decided to retire early – she will become effective on February 29 – after more than 30 years of service to the public entity in charge of News, among other television programs.

The last time he will appear before the cameras will be this Saturday, February 24, when he will present the Weekly Report for the last time, a program he took over after leaving Informativo in the summer of 2022. This space, which will be broadcast from 9:20 p.m., will discuss the past, present and future of Ukraine.

Blanco’s career on Spanish Television has been very long and successful. Thus, with so many years on screen, the journalist has managed to become one of the communication figures most loved by the public. However, beyond her appearance on screen, Blanco has kept her personal life away from the spotlight, showing very little about private aspects.

Born in Bilbao in 1961, Ana Blanco began her professional life in a field other than journalism. Graduated in Pedagogy from the University of Deusto, her interest in the media awoke quite late thanks to the influence of her brothers and a unique opportunity to collaborate on radio, which led her to reorient her career towards journalism and give the definitive jump to television.

The presenter is married to Juan Carlos Bolland, who is a lawyer and has extensive experience on television as a collaborator. The couple has kept their relationship away from the public eye, appearing together on rare occasions. Not even in important moments, like when she was awarded, did they want to lavish themselves too much.

The marriage does not have children. This decision, which was mutually agreed, is something that Blanco has spoken openly about: she has preferred to commit to her career instead of devoting herself to motherhood. Still, Blanco has never hidden his affinity for children.

Despite being a public figure, details such as the exact date of his birth remain a mystery. It is only known that he was born in November 1961. This discretion has marked his desire to keep his personal life separate from his professional image.

What is known is that, outside of the workplace, Blanco describes herself as a happy and enthusiastic person. Many of her are surprised to discover her sense of humor and her ability to enjoy life away from the cameras. Among her interests is a deep passion for music, being a fan of singer-songwriters such as Serrat or Pablo Milanés, her predilection for crime novels, choosing Donna Leon as her favorite writer, and her enthusiasm for golf, an activity that she enjoys with her husband.
