The Civil Guard has arrested in Malagón the mother and stepfather of a 12-year-old girl who was going to be forced to marry in exchange for 3,000 euros. The operation began at the end of last month, when the Civil Guard learned of the existence of some minors in the town of Malagón (Ciudad Real) who could be in a situation of helplessness. According to the information received by the agents, one of these minors had stated in her social environment that she was receiving regular physical attacks from her mother and that she did not want to be at her home.
Continuing with the investigations, the agents maintained contact about the minor’s social circle and the minor’s school, being able to verify that the minors had not attended school and that after this, the girl’s mother and stepfather had attended the center. to request the discharge of the minor, since according to them she had left the town, as reported by Benemérita in a press release.
At the same time, from the inquiries they made with the minor’s circle of friends, the agents were able to find out that she had informed them that her parents were going to marry her for 3,000 euros. For this reason, the agents have proceeded to arrest the parents.
It should be noted that at the time of the stepfather’s arrest he was carrying 3,800 euros in one of his pants pockets, stating that he had earned that money during the olive harvest campaign, with the agents verifying that this statement was false. Likewise, the agents were aware that the minor victim could be at a home in the town of Baza (Granada), so the agents immediately traveled to the town where she was located in that municipality.
After recovering the minor, negotiations began with Social Welfare of the province of Granada due to the risk of homelessness. Currently the minor is under the guardianship of the Junta de Andalucía. The operation has been developed by the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Ciudad Real.
