Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican singer who has become a benchmark in urban music, has not gotten off to a good start on his new world tour, which he has called Most Wanted Tour. With it, the Latin artist, one of the most listened to in the world, will tour different cities in the United States during the months of February, March, April and May.
During the first concert of the tour, which took place in Salt Lake City, Utah, under the theme of the Old West, the rapper burst onto the stage on a horse. As he had previously warned, the reggaeton player fulfilled one of his dreams: entering his show riding a horse.
The action has brought him a few enemies. Numerous social media users have criticized his attitude and have assured that what Bad Bunny has done is animal abuse. “I’m sorry, but a concert is not a place for an animal” or “this is animal abuse” have been some of the comments that have been read on X.
The video of the moment in which the artist enters his show on horseback has gone viral and that is why he has received more criticism than praise. “I love Bad Bunny, but this is very wrong. I’m sorry, there is no excuse to have a poor animal on a stage with so much noise and lights just to put on a show,” wrote a follower. “We are definitely not okay with this irresponsible act. Bad Bunny, do you think it’s a good idea to expose a horse to noise, lights, fog and the screams of thousands of people? The horse looks stressed and clearly doesn’t want to be there. So Please, do not include animals in your concerts. They just want to live in peace and not be used for your show,” another user shared.
The outrage has reached such a point that several users have requested the intervention of PETA, the animal rights organization, urging it to take action. Lisa Lange, Senior Vice President of PETA United States, has spoken out and pointed out that horses are not animals that should be in an environment as chaotic and noisy as a concert. “Horses are very skittish, and are not props to be ridden on stage among flashing lights, blaring music, and noisy crowds. Since they are easily scared, this could have ended in tragedy, all because of an absurd and thoughtless trick,” Lange said in an interview with Newsweek.
Of course, there have also been fans who have defended the artist’s entry, even calling it “legendary” and “revolutionary.” Many followers have wondered why Bad Bunny wanted to start his concert on a horse. The reality is that the artist had already confessed on previous occasions that starting his show in this way was a dream for him. However, Bad Bunny’s connection with horses goes further. On the cover of his new album, he appears on a horse. And in the video clips of some of his songs, the artist also appears in the same way, although this time on a toy horse.
