The last plenary session of the Santa Coloma de Gramenet Town Council approved the collaboration agreement with the Metropolitan Institute of Land Promotion (Impso), the promoter company of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), to promote the construction of 420 protected flats in this city . With this, the provisions of the current local housing plan are met, which also includes another 111 subsidized rental apartments, which adds up to a total of 531 new flats.

To promote these homes “the alliance between administrations is essential,” recognizes the mayor of Santa Coloma, Núria Parlon. The agreement with the AMB allows for the commitment to provide new protected housing, primarily for rent.

Parlon details that “we are working on other actions, both affordable housing and the rehabilitation of buildings,” and deploying campaigns for the rehabilitation or new promotions of residential apartments, “such as those for seniors” that already operate in the old school. In the area of ??the Fondo neighborhood, 170 homes (98 for sale) are being built on Sant Pasqual street; on Júlia Romera Yáñez street, another 56 for rent, the same as in Alfons Comín square, where there will be 38 apartments. In the area of ??the Front Fluvial del Raval, 168 rental homes and 24 for sale will be built on Generalitat Avenue and Joaquim Talavera Street. In the Singuerlín neighborhood, there will be 27 protected homes for sale on a property on Enric Granados street. All of this adds up to 420 new protected homes in Santa Coloma, of which 271 (65%) will be allocated for affordable rental and the remaining 35% (149) for sale.

Likewise, the specific modification of the General Metropolitan Plan (PGM) is being processed to build 111 new residential homes, all for rent, which brings to 531 the new apartments planned in the local housing plan during this mandate. Of these residential apartments, 48 ??have already been built for seniors in the old Miguel Hernández school.

About to be awarded are the 16 rental apartments for young people up to 36 years old in the Les Oliveres neighborhood, at 66 Font de L’Alzína road, a building owned by the Santa Coloma City Council. All of them will be awarded on a rental basis with official protection to young people or coexistence units who, prior to compliance with the conditions and requirements to be able to be applicants for this type of subsidized housing, are registered in the registry of applicants for protected housing. official of Catalonia.

This last promotion is intended for groups of one or two people and has an area of ??51 to 54 m2 with a balcony. Each home has an open area made up of the dining room, the kitchen, a double bedroom, a bathroom and a balcony. The contract is established for seven years and the rental price will be the result of calculating the useful meters by the module price of the general regime, which is set at 7.5 euros/m2.
