The singer has been in the world of music for more than three decades, where she has managed to achieve countless musical successes, which have led her to become one of the most important voices in our country.

But despite her impressive musical career, the artist’s personal life has been marked by very difficult moments, such as the loss of her twin, Paz Sánchez, in 2004, when she was only 38 years old and after fighting breast cancer. for three years.

The death of Paz Sánchez was a hard blow for the Soy Yo singer, who since then has not stopped collaborating on projects or companies focused on the fight against breast cancer. Furthermore, the performer, who has always had the memory of her twin sister very much in mind, wanted to remember her in her last interview with her great friend, Vicky Martín Berrocal, who presents her podcast A Solas con .. every Tuesday. .from the Podium platform.

”We were very different. And our parents loved us just the way we were. She was quieter, more serious, with an incredible sense of humor that made you laugh. I was crazier, more dreamy, more pizpireta… and I didn’t want to be like that, I wanted to be a little like her. “I really admired her elegance, her formality,” she commented.

Above all what her sister had taught her, the singer assured that the most important thing was temperance and knowing how to face the ailments that life gives you. ”She had very bad luck with her health. She caught hepatitis very badly when she was very young. From that moment on, her health was never ironclad. Then she had postpartum depression and then breast cancer started, which was not operated on properly and she had several metastases,’ she confessed.

Of course, Marta Sánchez wanted to praise the great strength that Paz had during those three years of struggle. ”I never saw her complain, only with the bone marrow transplant (…) The day I opened the door to her after the autotransplant, because I was not compatible, I did not recognize her because she weighed less, she had dark skin from the treatment , without tabs. It was the only time I saw her fall into her arms,’ she said.

Likewise, the singer regretted not having spent more time with her sister due to her musical career. ”I had to sacrifice being with my sister. This career demands so much of your life…that I have missed decades of my sister. And now that she is not there, she asked me why I didn’t travel to La Coruña more or why I didn’t call her more at night. And that is not easy to assimilate, to forgive oneself,’ she asserted.

But despite the time he was away from her, the singer confessed that he had a precious memory of her. And they both wrote letters to each other. ”There was still the romanticism of the mail and it was beautiful to open her letters and have her open mine. We both wrote very well (…) she told me beautiful things. And the strongest letter, which I have laminated, was the one she wrote to me to thank me for taking care of her illness. “That letter is overwhelming,” said the singer.
