The Sorli distribution group reinforces its health segment with the opening of what will be its first gym in the city of Barcelona. The company owned by the Sorli family has purchased the Seat building in Plaza Cerdà for five million euros to create a sports center that will complement the offering of the neighboring supermarket, measuring 1,200 square meters.
The transformation of the building, which has been purchased directly from Seat, will involve an investment of two million euros. The total cost of the operation, therefore, amounts to seven million. The sports center will have an area of ??2,000 square meters and will offer both exercise machines and guided activities and nutrition or physiotherapy services.
The facility is scheduled to open in June 2024 and create twelve jobs. With this, there are now six Sorli Sport centers that integrate the concept of sports space and supermarket. The current facilities are located in Badalona, ??Sant Vicenç de Montalt (two), Vilassar de Dalt and Sitges.
The group began a new stage of growth in 2023 that coincides with the company’s hundredth anniversary. It recently announced the investment of 20 million euros to open four supermarkets in Sant Cugat del Vallès and last year it also began work on a new logistics center in Granollers to support the expansion of its store network, in which it will invest around 18 million. of euros.
The company had a turnover of 270 million euros in 2023, 3.8% more than a year before, and has a network of 105 stores, in addition to six gyms, a hotel, two restaurants and a shopping center.
