The singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat has been honored this Wednesday with the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts 2024. After more than 50 years on stage and recording more than 500, he considers that there is no “better way” to say goodbye to a “long professional career and satisfactory” like his than obtaining such a “prestigious distinction. The Catalan singer-songwriter said goodbye to the stage at the end of 2022.
“You don’t know how much joy and emotion I receive the news of the 2024 Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts,” said the author of Mediterráneo and Paraules d’amor and has thus become the first Spanish singer-songwriter to receive the award.
