The City Council of Blanes (Selva) has evicted sixteen people who lived in a block of flats in the municipality due to a crack in the structure of the building.
The council had made several requests to the owner of the building to fix the crack and now it has been decided to carry out the works but to evict the inhabitants preventively.
Municipal technicians assure that the greatest risk is in the community staircase part and they trust that in a week the greatest danger can be resolved.
Meanwhile, the council has offered accommodation to the five affected families and at the moment there are eleven people who have decided to go to a pension in the town.
The remaining five have preferred to go to the homes of friends or family.
