The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will drop by 8.89% tomorrow, Sunday, to 3.79 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) compared to 4.16 euros today. By the hour, electricity will be free from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., marking the cheapest price in its history after improving the records of 2013 when it reached a price of 4.66 euros.
According to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Servimedia, the price of electricity has already been below 10 euros per MWh for ten days.
The 3.79 euros per MWh represent an increase of 23.9% compared to the 3.06 euros on Sunday of last week and a decrease of 93.7% over the 60.32 euros of a month ago, on the 3rd. of February.
Furthermore, in a year-on-year comparison, this Sunday registered a reduction of 97.3%, since on March 3 of last year the price was 142.56 euros per MWh.
Per hour, electricity will cost 0 euros, that is, it will be free, between 3 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and the most expensive price will be registered from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a cost of 30.6 euros.
In this way, the price of electricity in Spain tomorrow will be much lower than that of surrounding countries: in France it will be 63.35 euros/MWh; in Germany, 60.47 euros/MWh; in the United Kingdom, 67.22 pounds/MWh (78.49 euros/MWh) and in Italy, 74.3 euros/MWh.
