If little Simba could make friends with a wild boar and a meerkat, why can’t a lion make friends with a dog? It must be admitted that in the first case it is an animated film, but the truth is that reality often surpasses fiction.

Dogs are faithful, playful, protective and very friendly animals. Lions, however, are ferocious and tend to be more reluctant to affection and companionship. Or that’s what we’ve been led to believe.

The video that user @LaDeLosSoles shared on X (formerly Twitter) and that has gone viral proves the opposite. In the images you can see how a brown dog moves its tail with happiness and shakes hands with a huge feline with straight, light hair.

Completely unexpectedly, a lion appears on the left of the screen, slowly approaches the dog, takes its paw and kisses it, as a sign of respect. In fact, @LaDeLosSoles has equated the gesture that a laborer would make to his “mafia boss”.

With the music of the legendary movie The Godfather in the background, the original video by @jose.santana561 has another description: “When your dog is the most respected in the entire neighborhood.” The images definitely speak for themselves.
