A man has been injured with a head injury in Valencia when a fragment of a cornice that was detached by the wind fell on him, as reported by the Emergency Service of 112 Comunitat Valenciana.

This accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on Cirilo Amorós Street and the injured person was transferred to La Fe.

The 112 emergency telephone number has received more than 200 calls this Sunday related to incidents due to the wind, the majority due to falling cornices, trees, signs and traffic incidents.

In the interior of Castellón the maximum wind gusts have been around 150 kilometers per hour, as has been the case in Sant Mateu, with 148; while in the rest of the region the highest intensities have been those of Ayora, with 100 km/h, Alcoi and Xàbia with 95 and Sollana with 85.
