In the world of showbiz, celebrities not only shine on the red carpet, but some of them also leave their mark in the business sector. In recent times, many celebrities have entered the cosmetics industry as a way to continue growing their assets and also their personal brand. As? Launching your own line of cosmetic or hair products on the market and thus sharing your beauty secrets with the world.
The latest example is Beyoncé. The singer has announced through her Instagram account—on which she boasts 319 million followers—that she has launched Créced (translated into Spanish as sacred), her own line of hair products.
“Hair care for all hair types” is the slogan boasted by the newly launched brand. “I built Cécred from scratch. I have poured into it everything I have learned throughout my life to be able to borrow something from our past and take it to the future. Cécred is about prioritizing yourself and all the things you hold sacred,” says Beyoncé on the brand’s official website. On the website you can directly buy everything from shampoos or conditioners to specific treatments or even hair tools and accessories.
In addition to having an avant-garde product design, Cécred has a “patent pending” technology behind it for a “new type of keratin recovery science” as promoted by the brand.
Beyoncé is the latest in a long line of celebrities with their own brand. Rihanna is possibly the singer with the most successful cosmetics brand: Fenty Beauty. The brand was born in 2017 and continues to be successful today. Rihanna’s company has stood out for its range of shades for all skin types and her inclusive approach to all types of cultures. Other celebrities with her own brand are Kylie Jenner, a member of the famous Kardashian-Jenner clan, who launched Kylie Cosmetics in 2015 that includes a variety of makeup products, from her lip kit to eye shadows. Other popular characters to join this sector have been Jessica Alba with The Honest Company with which she launched baby care products on the market or Lady Gaga with her brand Haus Laboratories, a makeup brand that she created in 2019.
