Whatever happened in the Lower House, the forms had always been tried to be preserved among the members of the Congressional Board out of respect for the institution. Not even in the toughest meetings, in the previous legislature when Podemos occupied three seats in the Parliament, had there been moments as tense as those of yesterday.

Minutes earlier, the president of the Lower House, Francina Armengol, had appeared to defend the management of the community that she presided over until last year and ask the opposition for responsibility so that it does not continue to cross “red lines” in the face of the attack of attrition to which is being subjected to the Koldo case. “In politics, not everything goes,” Armengol repeated.

Then came the meeting of the Congress Board in the face of a dog. Hostility was the general tone of a meeting that was not like the one they usually have every week and in which some perceived a certain discomfort among the members of the PP due to the position that their party has adopted since the mask plot broke out. The ways of the implacable popular spokesman Miguel Tellado, who yesterday again referred to the president of Congress with strong words and once again demanded her resignation, are not to the liking of everyone in the party. Surely among the socialists they also dislike the outbursts in X of the ribald minister Óscar Puente, who shoots at everything that moves.

However, the PP, which since the Galician elections has smelled the weakness of the PSOE, increased by the scandal of the Koldo case, has begun a race to continue delving into the current fragility of the Socialist Party. He did not want to vote in favor of Congress investigating corruption in the sale of masks in all institutions, but he does not plan to give up. Yesterday, the official PP account published a controversial tweet: “message for corrupt socialists, it is one in the morning, you can now go in an orderly manner to trusted brothels.”

The PP has every right to demand the purging of responsibilities, but it would be convenient for it to do so without grotesque outbursts. Especially when, according to the CIS, political problems in general and the bad behavior of our representatives are among the first concerns of citizens. Then they say that there is disaffection, but it is no wonder. In the end, the perception ends up penetrating that politics is pure theater, of the bad kind.
