When vehicles are manufactured on a large scale, it is not surprising that failures may arise in some of their components. The problem is if this error is not resolved immediately, since it can result in problems for drivers.

That is what has happened in some units of the Hyundai Kona, one of the South Korean brand’s best-selling vehicles. The failure has been such that it has forced the Ministry of the Interior to have to intervene.

In a letter sent by the Hyundai After-Sales Service, the Ministry alerts the owners of the Kona manufactured between April 17 and December 30, 2023 of the “need” for them to go to an official workshop to review a possible problem. with the wiring.

“In the event of a frontal collision, the 12-volt battery wiring could be damaged by contact with the engine control unit clamp” is what the letter states.

The document provides more details such as that the review “is carried out in 50 minutes in most cases” and that the letter must be presented when attending the workshop so that the appointment is “completely free.”
