What was supposed to be a day of fun on Getares beach, in Algeciras, ended up becoming a day to forget. Three friends had boarded an inflatable boat but the wind was pushing them out to sea and it was impossible for them to return to land. One of them raised the alarm at Emergency 112, which quickly informed the Civil Guard Agents of the Maritime Service of the Command of the town in Cadiz about the situation.
The events occurred on the afternoon of May 1, according to a note from the armed institute, which detailed that they found the boat in a passage area for ships entering and leaving the Bay of Algeciras. The three people who were adrift were rescued in perfect health and returned to land.
The Civil Guard headquarters, through the SIVE (Comprehensive Foreign Surveillance System), managed to locate the approximate location of the vessel and activated the Maritime Service, which quickly headed to the area.
After being located, all of them were taken aboard the Civil Guard vessel, and were in good condition. The agents went to Puerto del Saladillo to disembark the rescued people. The Local Police of Algeciras was waiting there, which had supported the rescue from land.
