Frederick of Denmark is about to complete four months on the throne following the abdication of his mother, Margaret II. With this, both he and his wife Mary were able to somewhat avoid the focus of controversy caused by the scandal of the photographs of the monarch walking with Genoveva Casanova in Madrid.
Even so, it was of little use to them, considering that speculation continued to increase, putting on the table a possible crisis in the marriage that has gone around the world. Despite the rumors, they have continued with their official agenda and have moved to the Danneborg yacht, their new residence until May 16.
This same Thursday, both embarked in the port of Copenhagen, where their journey began, passing through the port of Helsingør before continuing. Two state trips along the coasts of the Baltic Sea that will end with visits to Sweden and Norway, after passing through various points in Denmark.
And this same yacht will serve as a romantic space to spend long hours of the day together. Something that, incidentally, they can use to try to put an end to the crisis rumors that have been arising due to Mary’s public appearances away from her partner.
And in the middle of this route, they will pass by Fredensborg Palace, where they will settle after this trip until the summer ends, as announced hours before. A space that was already her home during her first years of marriage when the Brockdorffen palace was undergoing renovations.
But before reaching this home, they will have to spend two weeks on the yacht, which has been sailing since May 26, 1932. A boat that is part of the official residences of the family and is 78 meters long and is made of steel.
Vanitatis has collected the description given by the Danish Royal House about this yacht and has stated that the royal cabin is located at the rear of the ship, which has an office, living room and bedrooms. On the contrary, the crew compartments are located at the front.
Although they will leave this royal residence on May 16, they will return to it on August 19, where they will spend three days of vacation touring various parts of the Nordic country. A real tradition that you won’t want to miss this year either.
