The former president of the PP of Catalonia and founder of Vox Alejo Vidal-Quadras has burst into the May 12 election campaign this Saturday to support the popular candidate for the Generalitat, Alejandro Fernández, and has given him a “practical slogan”: “There is no talk of Vox and no water to the nationalists.”

At an event this Saturday in Barcelona where, in addition to Fernández, he was also accompanied by the leader of the party in Barcelona, ??Daniel Sirera, Vidal-Quadras has asked that at the regional level the formation has “autonomy” to set its strategy without “interference.” capital”.

Vidal-Quadras, who left the PP in 2014 due to disagreements and who was one of the founders of Vox, a group that he also left, suffered a gun attack in Madrid last November that caused a gunshot wound to his jaw. for which there are, at the moment, five detainees.

“I hope they let (Fernández) work long enough for the notable rise that he will experience on May 12 to grow until it becomes a copious harvest of votes that buries predatory particularism and sterilizing socialism in irrelevance,” he expressed.

Vidal-Quadras has assured that Catalan identity is “the broad road” that leads to the “irrevocable condition of being Spaniards”, because, for the PP, “Catalonia is not a linguistic prison” nor is it “ideological”.

Regarding the PPC, he stated that it is “an organization capable of displaying the enthusiasm and perseverance of hosting an attractive project of a Catalonia inserted in an ambitious and common enterprise of a Spain in which plurality is an enrichment and a support for its cohesion.” ”.

Furthermore, he has included the socialist Salvador Illa in the nationalist orbit, whom he has defined as a “colorless, odorless, tasteless and translucent” candidate for the Generalitat, whom he has pointed out is the “necessary collaborator of the coup plotters” and of whom He has also criticized his proposal for a “transversal” government.

“Alejandro is, but if Illa is president your dream of being named Minister of Education will not be satisfied,” Vidal-Quadras joked, who also called the socialist candidate “Fr. Illa” repeatedly during his speech.

Vidal-Quadras has stated that on May 12, the PPC, “headed by an extraordinary number 1, will make this fire burn again, as an announcement of a future in which its brilliance and warmth will resurrect a Catalonia that does not deserve the monotonous and gloomy nightmare that drags her to hopeless failure.”

For his part, the PP candidate for the Catalan elections, who has defined himself as a “disciple” of Vidal-Quadras, has stressed that the space of his party “is not that of obligatory nationalism, but that of the alternative to nationalism.” .

Fernández has stated that “more or less intense” nationalism permeates practically all forces, “from the PSC to Aliança Catalana.”

“Nationalism is harmful, it is dangerous, and it classifies people based on their identity affiliation,” Fernández warned, adding that after classifying them “it points the finger” at them to indicate who is “an enemy of the country.” and who doesn’t.

Regarding Vidal-Quadras, he has stated that his irony “is more feline” than his, even “lethal out of necessity”, because it managed to make the “legendary throat clearing” of the former president of the Generalitat Jordi Pujol become “uncontrollable spasms”.
