Carola Miró, wife of the former president of the Generalitat Quim Torra, died this Saturday afternoon at the age of 58 in the Health Care Institute of Girona, where she was admitted.

Miró underwent surgery four years ago to remove a tumor. Torra, who was still president, suspended his political agenda to dedicate himself to her attention.

A teacher by profession, she taught at the Thau school in Barcelona until 2007, when she requested a leave of absence due to the family move to Switzerland, where Torra was working.

In the political sphere. Miró was part of the Reagrupament lists in Barcelona in the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia in 2010. She was the mother of three children.
