A huge tree on which various animals will climb, all representing the Fallas world and its peculiarities, and a fan of busts playing with the idea of ??the cap i casal are the two Fallas proposals that Valencia will plant in the Town Hall square next March. The first monument has the motto “Fauna Fauna” and will be the work of Alejandro Santaeulalia and Vicente Llácer, accompanied in the design – “from start to finish”, they explained – by Josete Santaeulalia, the former’s brother.

The children’s proposal, “Anem de cap”, comes from the hand of José Gallego, last year’s winner of the first prize in the Special Children’s Section and who will divulge among the smallest glimpses of the city of Valencia. From the capellà of the Capitulet, to the Caputxeta Roja, passing through the capità Capdevila, among other ideas that play with the word “cap” (head), the monument will speak about him. The sketches were unveiled this morning at an event held in the City of the Fallero Artist of Valencia.

The councilor of Fallas, Santiago Ballester, has assured that today is “a big day for the Fallas world”, and has highlighted the career and professionalism of the artists who will face the large and children’s monuments. The large Falla has a budget of 239,000 euros, and the children’s Falla has a budget of 36,000 euros.

“They are two failures that I think they are going to like a lot and that are going to give a lot to talk about,” added the mayor. Ballester highlighted that both projects have been chosen “unanimously” by the members of the jury. An election in which there has been political anger between the municipal groups, since the council decided that the political groups would appoint the members of the jury and Compromís did not want to participate. The PSPV derived its participation from the Gremio de Artistas Falleros.

Under the motto “Fauna Fallera”, the artists Alejandro Santaeulalia and Vicente Llácer propose a “fun and satirical” monument, returning to the origin of the essence of the Fallas, which is humor. As they explain in the project presented, the theme they have chosen is “the fallera festival itself”, because, they ask themselves, “what is more fallero than laughing at ourselves?” They propose a jungle in which all the characters are humanized animals.

The monument, which will have a total of 135 ninots in 7 scenes, will have a height of 20 meters, and a floor area of ??13×10 meters. Various materials will be used in the construction, especially wood and cardboard, and Neops or similar (sustainable expanded polystyrene, of plant origin).

For his part, José Gallego has been especially excited about what will be his debut in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The falla will have 40 ninots, and dimensions of 3 meters high and 3 meters in circumference. As the author has explained in his project, materials will be used that, in their combustion, “produce the cleanest Cremà possible, such as wood, cardboard and expanded polystyrene of ecological and sustainable origin.” The polychrome and finishes will be with water-based paints and ecological acrylic varnish. It is also planned to facilitate accessibility for people with disabilities.
