After a few months of a lot of work, effort and dedication to make everything go well, the favorite week of Eurofans around the world has arrived: Eurovision week. The first semi-final will take place on Tuesday and, after the second is broadcast on Thursday, we will have the complete list of the countries that will accompany Sweden (the country hosting the competition) and the rest of the Big Five (Spain, France, Italy , Germany and the United Kingdom) in the final next Saturday, May 11.

Since the Benidorm Fest arrived in Spain, fans of the event in our country have been living this date with special excitement and enthusiasm. After choosing a dance song that left us at the top of the chart (Slo Mo) and a flamenco song that did not convince Europe (Ea ea), the spectators and the festival jury this year chose the music group Nebulossa to compete. in Malmö, Sweden.

The group from Alicante will represent our nation with a protest song titled ‘Zorra’, which has been used as an insult for many years towards all those ‘free’ women who deviated from the norm and were criticized socially.

The Spanish candidacy has raised a lot of controversy because many Spaniards believe that the song perpetuates misogyny instead of fighting it, as the group has stated on countless occasions. It should be noted that, as it belongs to the Big Five, Spain has a guaranteed place in the final next Saturday, so we will have to wait to see if the international fans of the contest understand the message of the song and whether or not they buy the proposal.

To talk about the relationship between the members of Nebulossa we have to go back many years. The artists have known each other since they were children, since their families have always maintained a great relationship and have lived in the same Alicante town: Ondara.

It should be noted that María (55 years old) took care of Mark (47 years old) when his parents went out on weekends, which is why they have always shared a close relationship, even before they started dating.

Years after being his caregiver, Bas fell in love with the producer and they began dating formally. Currently, both maintain a very solid relationship from which two children have been born: María, 23 years old, and Neo, 11. Already at the Benidorm Fest, the man expressed that he was doing all this for love: ”I am accompanying her in this because It’s a dream for her.”

You could say that they have shared a lifetime together and, for this reason, they are so excited to live such a great experience as Eurovision. It should be noted that they did not form the musical group until 2018, at which time Bas picked up a microphone and Mark Dasousa began producing songs for ‘Nebulossa’.
