Carlos Latre is Telecinco’s bet to compete next season in the ‘access prime time’ slot. The popular showman will face Pablo Motos’ El Hormiguero on Antena 3 and the new program that David Broncano (La Resistencia) premieres on RTVE’s La 1. The start of the new television season will be clearly marked by this triple confrontation.
This was revealed this afternoon by Mediaset España with a statement in which it reported having reached an agreement with Carlos Latre “that will mean the return next season of the showman, imitator and presenter to Telecinco with a ‘new format for access prime time’ produced in collaboration with Latre’s own production company.” For the moment, no further details have been revealed in this regard, although it is assumed that Latre’s new space will debut with the start of the new season.
In this way, a three-way duel will take place between the three Spanish networks with the largest audience, in the most important time slot on the television schedule. Telecinco’s announcement comes as a surprise after weeks where David Broncano has been the main protagonist of the news. The comedian and presenter ended up confirmed as a new signing for RTVE after long negotiations in the public entity.
The incorporation of Latre to Mediaset will end his regular collaboration with several Atresmedia programs, including Tu cara me sona, where he serves as a jury alongside Chenoa, Lolita and Àngel Llàcer. Her performance in the task will be closely monitored, after the Cuentos Chinos option with Jorge Javier Vázquez was canceled after just three weeks on the air.
The versatile comedian, born in Castellón de la Plana in 1979, has been linked to the world of radio, film and television since 1996. On Telecinco he has participated in different programs, such as Crónicas marcianas, Replica or Latrevisión. In addition, he has presented and participated in numerous galas, such as the 35th Edition of the Goya Awards.
