Monday, May 6, was marked on the calendar of fashion lovers, as it is the big night when the Met Gala is celebrated and celebrities show some of the most spectacular designs that we can see during the rest of the year. An event where haute couture, risk, imagination and creativity come together at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in the heart of New York, and where there are usually many anecdotes to remember.

This year’s theme was Sleeping Beauties: The Awakening of Fashion, with the intention of giving a nod to sustainability and nature from a fashion point of view. However, as expected, some famous people decided to give a very free interpretation of the subject. That was the case of rapper Cardi B, who appeared on the green carpet of the Met in a spectacular black Windowsen dress that left everyone speechless.

The one from Puerto Rico made the photographers wait for her arrival at the long staircase of the museum, but not because she wanted to, but because the dress blocked the entrance due to the size and volume of her impressive tulle skirt and did not allow her to move easily. So much so that she needed up to ten people to be able to “unlock” it and ensure that the dress was properly positioned so that she could pose for the photographers located at the foot of the steps of the mythical building.

Some moments in which the rapper, natural as always, has not remained with her arms crossed either. While they were putting her dress on, Cardi B dedicated herself to keeping her cell phone powered up. The queen of multitasking dedicated herself to charging the device while the others adjusted her outfit, to have everything ready before entering.

A much talked about moment that no one expected, but she was not the only one who attended the event with her mobile phone, given the number of images that already exist on social networks. After the task, she entrusted an assistant with her bag, from which she hung the charger cable, and she continued with her task of looking as perfect as possible.

Any precaution is too little, especially if you need a phone ready to photograph such a spectacular dress from all possible angles.

The interpreter of Enough (Miami) opted for a stunning haute couture dress made with multiple layers of black Windowsen tulle that almost took up the entire width of the green carpet. The artist completed her dramatic look with a matching headdress, emerald jewelry, and nails in the same tone.

According to her stylist, Kollin Carter, the rapper’s look for the event was inspired by a black rose. A free interpretation of the dress code, based on The Garden of Time.

“We always try to make sure everything is iconic and comes out right. The Met Gala is like going to the Grammys,” the singer recently acknowledged in statements to The Hollywood Reporter. “We want them to remember us forever. “It’s not just about going.”
