When a dog is rescued from an abusive situation, you have to be very careful when it is adopted by other people. At first the animal is normally afraid of the things it has experienced before, so you have to choose carefully who you stay with.
Arturo is a greyhound who was in charge of the Argentine animal shelter “Huellitas Perdidas”. To help him have a more bearable recovery, they decided that it was a good idea for him to be in Big Brother Argentina as a transition home.
However, barely a month has passed since the dog arrived at the house and the shelter has asked to be allowed to take him out of there. The reason is the constant situations of tension that are experienced in the program and that do not help an animal that has suffered abuse.
In an Instagram post they explain the reason why they took him to GH: “The intention was always to generate a message of awareness about the importance of getting involved, rescuing, transitioning and giving up for adoption.”
“We were wrong” they also acknowledged in the post. “Due to the extremely violent events that occurred recently, among the participants of the reality show, we consider that it is no longer a suitable “home” for Arturo.”
A few days later, Huellitas Perdidas published another text in which they communicated that the production company did not give them permission to take the dog. “Apparently the rating and pure marketing strategies make a living being take a backseat” they say in this statement.
