A 4-year-old boy was injured last Sunday in the center of Madrid when he was attacked by a ‘rottwailer’ breed dog that was without a muzzle and which National Police officers had to shoot with their taser gun to get it to let go. to the minor.
The events occurred last Sunday the 5th, Mother’s Day, when the child was walking with his father along Paseo de Recoletos, in the district of Salamanca, as police sources have informed Europa Press.
A dog of a dangerous breed that was not muzzled attacked the child, biting him on the thigh. Eyewitnesses tried to separate the dog from the minor without success, so they notified the emergency services.
Agents from a National Police callsign who went to the scene had to use their regulation taser gun on two occasions to get the animal to release its prey. A Samur-Civil Protection team went to the scene and treated the minor for the wound on his thigh.
The officers required the presence of Municipal Police officers at the scene, who imposed the corresponding administrative sanction on the owner of the animal for carrying it without a muzzle on the street.
In this regard, the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, has stressed that the owner of the dog committed “a tremendous irresponsibility that unfortunately a child has paid for” and has recalled that the regulations require them to be kept on a leash and with a muzzle.
“What I do ask of all dog owners, and especially dangerous dogs, is that they comply with the regulations at all times,” he stated, in addition to sending a message of support to the child and his family.
