The actor Sylvester Stallone, known internationally for starring in some successful films such as Rocky, Creed or Demolition Man, has decided to part with one of his most prized possessions: a collection of 11 luxury watches that he has kept for years and that is valued, initially, at about 6 million dollars.

According to what has been learned, the watches will go up for auction at the well-known Sotheby’s gallery in New York in a matter of weeks, more specifically on June 5, so all those interested in purchasing them should be very attentive.

Among the different instruments that it treasures, we can find a Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime, which is considered one of the most complex wristwatches on the planet. This watch was originally sold for $2.5 million, as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.

This is the first time that a Grandmaster Chime has been presented at a commercial auction. A few years ago, in 2019, a steel Grandmaster Chime was sold at the Only Watch charity auction. On that occasion, the object was sold for the record figure of 31 million dollars.

The price that has been estimated for the piece that the acclaimed filmmaker has to his credit ranges between 2.5 and 5 million dollars, but, according to the aforementioned media, it is most likely that he will achieve a higher figure. at the time of sale.

Sylvester Stallone has been a collector of Patek watches for many decades. He himself has spoken about his penchant for storing these types of pieces in a video published by Sotheby’s.

In said recording, the actor explained that in order to buy his Grandmaster Chime (an almost impossible task for the average citizen) he had to write personally to the board of directors of the firm, which finally agreed to sell it to him.

For Stallone, the watch in question goes beyond what it represents and the function it has, since he sees it as a “work of art” on a par with paintings by artists like Monet.

The actor has never worn the watch, so Stallone’s Grandmaster Chime still has its original packaging. In addition, he also has the papers that were given to him when he bought it, as well as a beautiful and luxurious presentation box on which the name of the performer is engraved.

It is unknown why Stallone would be carrying out this sale and if he really needs the money, but what is certain is that the actor keeps many other luxury items that he has not yet put up for sale.
