The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) has warned of the discovery of ingredients not suitable for human consumption in jars of pickles of various formats from the Valencian brand Corbí.

According to the notice issued by the Valencian Community through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (Sciri), the affected products are the olive cocktail, Jaén split olives and sweet piparras in olive oil.

The government agency recommends that people who have the products included in this alert at home refrain from consuming them, in all batches and on all best-before dates.

According to the information provided by Aesan, the initial distribution has been to the autonomous communities of Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Cantabria, Madrid, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Murcia, Extremadura and Castilla-La Mancha.

However, according to the notice issued on its website and disseminated through its social networks, it cannot be ruled out that there may be redistributions to other regions. The stores or supermarkets in which these products have been sold are not specified.

The food alert and said information has also been transferred to the authorities of all the autonomous communities through Sciri to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from marketing channels.
