Animals are the most vulnerable beings to natural disasters. Even though they live in nature and are accustomed to it, if they find themselves in an extreme situation their survival instinct may not work.
Towns and cities are no longer safe either, and that is what has happened in recent days with the floods that the southern part of Brazil is suffering, with several cities completely flooded.
Up to 85 people have lost their lives and 150,000 have been displaced. But in one town an agonizing image has been seen: a horse standing on a corrugated roof trapped without being able to escape.
In the video uploaded to Twitter by the account @AlertaMundoNews you can see how the horse is completely still on top of what little remains of the unflooded roof, paralyzed by fear.
The mayor of Canoas, the town where this animal is found, has commented that the logistics are being prepared to rescue the horse by helicopter, looking for one that can support the weight of the horse.
The comments on both the tweet with the images of the animal and the mayor’s statements have been filled with good wishes and hopes for the horse to be rescued safe and sound.
