If after a dinner you have a piece of cheese wedge left over, or you have bought a large block and want to keep part of it, it is not recommended to keep it in the refrigerator. Wrapping in plastic wrap or aluminum foil usually encourages the growth of mold. Therefore, an effective alternative is to store the piece in an airtight bag and put it in the freezer. In addition, this way you can grate it more easily when you are going to consume it.

On the other hand, you can also store the grated cheese in the freezer with the original container closed. If you have already opened it, you just have to pour the rest into a zip bag and put it in the freezer.

If you want to use up your leftover tomato sauce, you can also keep it in the freezer! Simply pour the remaining contents of the jar into a zip-top freezer bag. Spread the sauce well and make some marks with the edge of a knife. This way, you can defrost just the right amount when you need it.

In addition, the freezer is also a good ally for those tomatoes that have reached their optimal state of ripeness. If you are not going to consume them in the short term, it is best to put them as is in the freezer until you need them to make a stew, sauce or soup.
