Emily Goldberg, known for having been the partner of the late DJ and producer Avicii, has died at the age of 34. Her obituary, published online, confirms that her death occurred on April 3 in La Jolla, California, due to a pulmonary embolism.

Goldberg lived the last few years between ups and downs in health. Through her latest Instagram post, she shared with her followers that she had been battling cancer throughout 2022 and part of 2023, but celebrated having overcome the disease.

To commemorate this anniversary, she decided to upload a photo of herself in the hospital to her profile with the text “I lived a bitch,” reflecting her relief at having moved on: “I’ve had cancer for the last year. “I don’t have cancer anymore.”

The ex-girlfriend of Tim Bergling, Avicii’s real name, was a great support for him during the two years that their relationship lasted, several years after his death in 2018. On his Instagram account, Goldberg published an emotional tribute to Avicii, where He highlighted his relationship with the producer: ”Come on babe, don’t give up on us. Choose me, and I’ll show you love. “It’s the lyrics of a song that Tim wrote for me.”

Avicii’s death in 2018, by suicide while on vacation in Muscat, the capital of Oman, left a great void in the world of electronic music. Two years before his death, Avicii had announced his retirement from touring, choosing to focus on music production.

He explained his decision in a letter to his fans: “We all reach a point in our lives and careers when we understand what matters most to us. For me, it’s creating music.” However, the DJ could not withstand the pressure and used a broken bottle to take his own life. “He was not cut out for the business machine he found himself in,” the family said in a statement.
