After a campaign of maximum intensity, forced to immerse themselves for fifteen days in colloquiums, rallies and electoral debates, the Catalan candidates for the presidency of the Generalitat will try to decompress this Saturday with walks, family meals, contact with friends and, above all, a lot rest.

As is tradition, the protagonists of the campaign will meet together to take the photo of La Vanguardia that will be the front page of the newspaper on election day. A relaxed event to which the candidates attend without knowing the proposal of photographer Xavi Cervera and which, therefore, generates funny anecdotes and unexpected complicities.

Beyond the commitments with the media throughout the morning, these are their plans to disconnect during the day of reflection, explained by themselves:

The PSC candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, will start the day very early, as is usual for him, going for a run together with his physical trainer, Abel, and his brother Ramon, before taking a shower and getting dressed to photos of candidates.

He will hold a meeting with the director of his campaign, Lluïsa Moret, “to prepare for Sunday”, then he will go home to eat, walk with his dog for a while and seclude himself at home with his wife to rest, perhaps “ to read or watch a series to relax,” with the idea of ??going to sleep early.

The president of the Generalitat and candidate for re-election, Pere Aragonès, will take advantage of the day to rest with his family, something that has been “impossible” during the campaign.

At home, he will unleash his skills on the stove, possibly to prepare some type of fish, although he has not yet decided; He will spend the afternoon playing with his five-year-old daughter Clàudia, and at night he will go out to dinner with his wife, Janina Juli.

Installed for this campaign in “Catalunya Nord”, a territory in the south of France with historical and linguistic ties with Catalonia, the former Catalan president and head of the JxCat list, Carles Puigdemont, will not be able to attend the photos of candidates, but he will dedicate his time to rest with the family.

With his wife and two daughters, he plans to go see the USAP match, the rugby team from Perpinyà (France), against Clermont, then he will eat with friends who come up from Girona to be with him and perhaps go to the tomb of the historic Catalan politician Antoni Rovira i Virgili, who died in exile in 1949.

In the case of the head of the Vox list, Ignacio Garriga, once the required photographs have been taken, his plans include attending the communion of his best friend’s son, then he hopes to “enjoy” his family, play with his children and guard weapons for Sunday’s day.

The CUP candidate, Laia Estrada, will also fulfill her morning photographic commitments and will retire to her home in Reus (Tarragona), where she plans to attend the Fira del Trapezi with her family.

Jéssica Albiach, Comuns Sumar candidate for the Generalitat, after the morning photo sessions, will relax by going out for a drink with some friends, in addition to being with her family during the afternoon.

The number one of Ciudadanos, Carlos Carrizosa, plans to do something similar, who plans to eat with his family, deal with some organizational matters of the party and take advantage of the afternoon to be with his family.

It will be a similar day for Alejandro Fernández, the head of the PP list, who reserves midday to eat with the whole family, whom he admits to having left “a little unattended during these days of the campaign”; In the afternoon, he will rest and relax as much as he can before his appointment with the polls on Sunday.
