The design studio Italdesign always surprises with its prototypes and futuristic creations. This time, the venue chosen to present its latest bet in electromobility was the recent Beijing Motor Show, where the public was captivated by a marvelous grand tourer that combines elements from several segments in the same vehicle.

They have named it Quintaessenza and it is an impressive four-seater fully electric coupe with a versatile modular body and swivel seats, which boasts a stylized sports sedan silhouette, while offering the functionality of a pick-up.

And the most outstanding aspect of this revolutionary proposal from Italdesign is precisely its unprecedented removable tailgate, which leaves the entire rear area exposed and completely open. This, together with the passenger seats, which can be rotated 180 degrees, allows you to enjoy nature and the outdoors from the car.

For their part, passengers in the front seats can enjoy the sensation of traveling almost in a convertible thanks to the vehicle’s enormous glass roof, which provides great interior luminosity.

Continuing with the exterior, its large dimensions draw attention, with a body that measures 5.5 meters in length, 2.20 m in width and 1.58 m in height, a wheelbase that reaches 3.24 m and the possibility of adjusting the height of the floor between 200 and 280 mm.

It presents many elements that contribute to giving it an aerodynamic and sporty appearance, such as sharp front and rear LED headlights, muscular wheel arches with carbon fiber finishes or a prominent rear overhang reminiscent of American muscle cars.

Regarding its drive system, the vehicle has three electric motors that offer a total power of 580 kW (around 780 HP) and that allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h with complete ease in less than 3 seconds. The motors, which provide the vehicle with all-wheel drive with variable torque distribution, are powered by a powerful 150 kWh battery that promises a range of 750 km.

The interior of the car is also striking and undeniably futuristic. Italdesign declares that it has been designed “with a human focus”. It has a floating dashboard on which the infotainment system and an avant-garde digital dashboard are located. The steering wheel is flattened at the bottom as is the trend in cars with sophisticated aesthetics. Furthermore, from a smartphone and an app, the driver can comfortably personalize the driving experience.

It is a multipurpose car that falls within the category of high-performance sports vehicles. It not only aims to mark the aesthetics of the vehicles of the future but also highlights one of the current consumer trends: the desire not to give up anything.
