The well-known actor Rodolfo Sancho denounces that a witness who had to testify in the trial against his son in Thailand is extorting him. As he himself explained to the newspaper El Mundo, he is a young Venezuelan who in 2021 reported Edwin Arrieta to try to sexually abuse him.
As soon as he learned about Daniel Sancho’s case, the man decided to contact the actor’s family and volunteered to speak before the judge during the legal procedure.
For this reason, Sancho’s legal team made several transfers to pay for his trip to Koh Samui, where the trial took place. Now, he finally did not keep his word: the possible witness did not appear to testify and, in addition, he now threatens Rodolfo Sancho with making public that he tried to buy him and asks for more money.
The actor flatly denies it. Rodolfo Sancho defends that he has never looked for a false witness and that all those who accuse him of trying to buy someone only want to further tarnish his image and that of his family. He acknowledges that his lawyers had access to the document of the complaint that the possible witness had filed against Edwin Arrieta for sexual abuse, and that, for this reason, they wanted to have it.
Both Rodolfo and the rest of the team saw the witness’s statement as an opportunity to reinforce the version that Daniel Sancho and his entourage had defended since the beginning of the trial: that the actor’s son had killed the Colombian surgeon in self-defense after he tried to sexually assault him. Sancho remains in a Thai prison in Koh Samui awaiting the sentence of the justice of this country, which will not be pronounced until August 29.
